A Small Digital Camera: A Smart Choice or Not?

Having a small digital camera could be ideal for simple “aim and click” pictures. It may not have a lot of features, but it is about convenience. They come in different actual sizes, and many of them are small enough to fit on a keychain. how small do you need it to be?

Due to the actual physical size, some people will find using a small digital camera to be somewhat difficult. To easily access the controls, you need small fingers, so it would probably be more suited for women and children.

Unless you are prepared to pay a rather hefty price, don’t expect perfect picture quality. On the whole, it should be average, but not spectacular. Keep in mind that the item was designed to be a novelty, with the added convenience of being able to take pictures if you want to. True to its classification, it takes pictures (without film), that can be downloaded onto a computer, but that’s it.

Small digital cameras are actually easy to come by. You can find them at many drug stores, retail stores, and of course, online stores. When ordering online, though, be careful to check the physical dimensions of the camera, to see if you will be able to handle it. Cut a piece of cardboard the size of the camera, and see if you will feel comfortable with it.

If in need of a better picture quality, you may consider moving on to a slightly larger size camera. If you can accommodate an implement the size of a deck of cards, you will be able to have a camera with more advanced features, and notably better picture quality.

What you decide to buy, will depend on your individual needs. Does it have to be small, or just compact? Do you need to be able to fit it onto your keychain, so you do not have to remember to take it along? Or do you just want something not taking up too much space? As long as you are content with the picture quality, it can be as small as you need it.
