Mini Digital Cameras: A Spy’s Dream?
Upon crossing over to digital cameras, a lot of things changed. No longer do you have to
worry about the light, because it is measured automatically. No longer do you have to worry
about a film, or its expiry date, or development done only by professionals: It’s simply
not there anymore. No longer do you have to worry about running out of “shots”: With the
capacities of present day cameras and memory cards, that’s very unlikely. No longer do you
have to find some space to transport a bulky piece of equipment: Just slip it into your
pocket……
Amongst the benefits of technological advancement, is the fact that things are becoming
smaller, yet still remain effective, and in many cases, improve. With the availability of
mini digital cameras, many things changed. Taking great pictures is not a technical jungle
of lens adjustment, light measurement, shutter speed, and film exposure anymore. It’s
simply a matter of aim and click. And as you can immediately see what the shot looks like,
you can repeat it if need be.
The mere size of these mini digital cameras allows you to be discreet in obtaining your
required information. Using a camera the size of a box of matches can be done very
discreetly, even in public. The fact that you can record video material, means you can
leave it hidden and retrieve it later. You can even link it to your computer with a
wireless interface, and monitor something in “real-time”.
The combination of size, quality, flexibility and ease of use of today’s mini digital
cameras makes for the perfect “spy tool” in any given situation. You can use it to monitor
your kids, whether it be for mischief or for safety. You can use it to check up on
employees not adhering to your prescriptions. You can use it for obtaining information on
criminal activities, or just use it to get a shot of someone who “hates a camera”.
Just keep in mind that, thanks to the size and affordability of mini digital cameras, just
about anyone could be using one. You never know when YOU are on (not-so) “candid” camera.
So wherever you are, and whatever you do, keep this in mind: What would this look like if
captured on camera right now?………..
